ROTE 045: Cliff Ravenscraft & Going From Hobby To Full-Time Career!

One of the most exciting things about having your own blog, brand, business or even a podcast, is that you simply never know what new opportunities might pop up next.

When I launched my blog in 2007 it completely changed my life and business for the better. Eight years later and new people are reading it for the first time every day, while new opportunities continue to pour in.

Speaking of which… it would be quite interesting to see where I would be today if I didn’t decide to launch my blog in 2007 and most recently, this very podcast! No need to think too hard… the important thing is that I did take action and it helped me get to where I am today.

Entrepreneurs are known for their amazing ability to stand outside of the norm and what they are comfortable with.. and that’s when things really get exciting — which is also what we are going to be talking about in the latest episode of the Rise of the Entrepreneur.

Cliff Ravenscraft is the “Podcast Answerman” — however this wasn’t always the case. Before becoming the go-to source for anything podcasting, Cliff was an insurance guy, a pastor, a fan of various TV shows and somewhere along the way he fell into the world of podcasting. 3,000+ episodes later… and he’s the leading authority for anything and everything podcasting.

Cliff’s story is excellent because it’s one that many of us can relate with, especially in that it took a lot of time, passion and a killer work ethic to turn it into what it is today. The entry into the world of podcasting for Cliff was through his love for shows and movies like Lost, Dr. Who and Hunger Games. Through these outlets he was able to quickly amass a following of thousands of listeners to his podcasts.

However it was until Cliff started making other podcasts about himself, his life and his teachings that he was able to really establish a personal brand for himself. As his podcasting experience and audience grew, so did Cliff’s passion for figuring out a way to do podcasting for a living.
